Our Story

2 Friends Became Brothers:

One day back in elementary school, Jackson's parents had to attend an event that he was not allowed to go to. So, they told him a friend from their Sunday School class had a son his age and that he was going to hang out with that family for a little bit.

From that day on, Jackson and Nick became best friends, and eventually, considered each other more of a brother than a friend. They formed a bond through Christ that has stood the test of time. In high school, they would constantly show up at each others house and just walk in saying, "I'm Home" to the entire family, who would fully expect them to show up at any given moment.

If you ask them today, they have created a comically crazy theory that will only be proven true or false when they meet Jesus in Heaven.

2 Brothers. 1 Bond:

Fully believing that God had a plan for both of them, and being inspired by Jesus sending His disciples out in pairs, they started not just living life together but also helping each other grow closer to Christ.

Growing up, especially while in school, people would come up to them and ask them for help. It could be anything from moving a bed, mowing a lawn, fixing a fence, etc. They often agreed, and did (or at least tried to do) most work pro-bono, because they believed that is what Christ has called the Church to do. Which is to take care of others when/if at all possible.

Bond into Passion into Vision:

Nick and Jackson bonded over 1 primary similarity: Jesus. This bond turned into a Passion for helping others in Jesus' Name. From this, they dreamed of one day being able to do the work of Jesus full time.

God planted a vision in them of a non-profit dedicated to two things: Seeing people set free from sin, and helping them out with any needs that they had the ability to fill in the process.

Boots on the Ground:

College hit however, and the passion and vision almost got left behind. One day, as they talked, they agreed that words could only go so far. That it was time to put words into action. To go back and do the work that Christ had sent them out to do in the first place so long ago. To start "walking the walk" and stop just "Talking the Talk."

Being inspired by 1 Corinthians 7:22 (as well as many others, but that one primarily), they agreed to start encouraging each other once more. To start being spiritually open to God's will and plan again. To start helping people, in Jesus name, as they did before.

Although FREE, they agreed to be SLAVES of Christ Jesus. Serving Him wherever He lead, and by any means that He commanded them.

Thus began the birth of FreeSlave Ministries.
