Potatoes:

We all eat potatoes. We eat potatoes for breakfast. We eat potatoes for lunch. We eat potatoes for dinner. We even eat potatoes as part of a snack. Hash Browns, french fries, baked, tater tots, sweet potatoes, sweet potato fries, au gratin, potato chips, and the list can go on and on! However, consider where potatoes come from. They are a vegetable that grows on the portion of the plant below the ground. They come in all different shapes, sizes, varieties, and colors. When harvested, they are covered in dirt and are absolutely filthy. In order to get to the point of being able to be used for food, they must go through a cleaning process, and change. Once they are cleaned up and processed, they end up in a wide variety of dishes, for our culinary delight.

Humans are the same. On our own and through our own actions, we are 100% spiritually dirty and filthy. We need spiritual cleansing. Something that we can not do on our own. Just like the food that we eat and is harvested by a farmer, we too need someone to pull us up out of the dirt and earth and clean us up. The only way to receive that type of spiritual cleansing is through Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we can experience true change. The Holy Scriptures state in 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”. You were created with certain talents and gifts. You were created for a purpose. Your gifts, talents, and purpose were given to you to glorify Christ.

We can all agree that the death ratio for humans is 1:1. We will all face death one day. Search in your heart of hearts and sincerely ask yourself. ‘Do I know Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior?’ Jeremiah 29:13 states that if you search for Christ with all sincerity you will find Him “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”
